...und das waren die Eindrücke der Richterin Myrna Shiboleth nach diesem Tag:
"I was very excited to judge the Bad Duben collie specialty, with such a super entry of 95 dogs. And I was very pleased when I started judging and saw that the quality of the dogs was so good.
I have in the past often been disappointed by collies I have seen in Europe, in particular their body construction and movement. At this show, a great majority of the dogs were very well constructed, with excellent necks and toplines, good angulation, and excellent and correct movement - these collies appear capable of doing a day's work or participating in dog sports without any problems. Heads were well shaped and not too heavy, but with nice well rounded muzzles; few of the dogs were either too deep in head, or had weak underjaws. Ears were excellent, well set and carried. A weak point, I found, was the eyes - many of the dogs had rather large eyes, some tending to be too round, and some of the eyes were a bit light in color, which are factors that can detract from the lovely expression. This is a point that breeders have to think about in future.
Temperaments were excellent, the dogs were friendly and happy. Their temperaments were tested by the very windy weather, with things flapping around, and even the tent flying away at one point, and the dogs were not worried and behaved very well - something I was very happy to see.
The organizers, the crew in the ring and at the show, and the exhibitors, were all kind, polite and friendly and I very much enjoyed meeting them. I do hope to have another chance in the future to again meet these lovely people.
I very much enjoyed my time in Bad Duben and for the chance to see such lovely dogs. My winners were super collies, but the decisions were not easy, as there were many excellent dogs in the classes. Thank you for inviting me!
Best wishes,
Myrna Shiboleth"
